C. G. CONN LTD. 80A CORNET MUSICAL INSTRUMENT & CASE. This listing is for an \"as found\" musical instrument. I don\'t know anything about musical instruments, but I will describe this as best I can. ThisCornet comes with its original black hard shell case with a canvas like covering, silver tone metal cap on 4 corner edges, 4 metal round stud feet on the bottom edge, 2 silver tone metal bands over bell rim area, metal plate: CONN BAND INSTRUMENTS; paper label: Taylorville. T.H.S.B.; and an intact leather coveredhandle withwearand 2 latch clasps with center lock (no key), lock marked Eagle. The inside of the case has green fuzzy lining (spots, staining).Also found in the case are 2 bottles withsome contents (HetmanClassic Piston Lubricant 3 valve oil 2 fl. oz.; and HetmanSlide-Gel Lubricant 7 tuning slide grease, 1 fl. oz.).The cornet bell has floral engraving and is marked in center: Made byC. G. CONN LTD Elkhart Ind. U.S.A.The interior of the bell is gold tone. The valve tops are white (valves push down easily and come right back up). The mouthpiece is only marked with the number 1 on the shaft.There is a faint mark on the leadpipe8 0 A?.The center valve has serial number 274366 and below is PATENTED. The water keys open easily; slides, slide; seems to be missing some type of bar on the valve quick change mechanism (I can\'t find a detailed illustration, so I\'m doingthe best I can.) The diameter of the bell is 4-5/8\"; thevalve length is 6-1/8\". The cornet itself measures approx. 17-3/4\" from the tip of the mouthpiece to the rim of the bell and is in good, solid condition, some wear to finish ( silver plate over brass?)as seen in photos and I could not find any dings or dents on the bell (I also have not tried to clean the piece.) When boxed SECURELY for shipping, item weighs9 pounds. (7685d)
