Description
This listing is for a fine antique circa 1920 Japanese Nippon porcelain handled vase with hand painted thistle flowers. The vase measures 10 ½ inches or 26.6 cm high, and is 5 ¾ inches or 14.6 cm at its widest.
The vase has a narrow base that supports the body which widens at the shoulders. At the top of the shoulders are two small curled handles accented with heavy applied gold. The body of the vase is hand painted with pink and blue thistle flowers atop green leaves and stems which have been outlined in black. The shoulders of the vase are further enhanced with a floral and geometric border in red, green black and gold. It is marked on the bottom with M-in-wreath, hand-painted ("M" stands for importer, Morimura Bros.), this mark was used since 1911.
The condition overall is excellent; with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is minor wear to the gilding. Please see the photographs for more on the look and condition of this fine Nippon vase, as they are an important part of the description.
