Stunningly beautiful, original and very rare, ca1901 Old Pepper Bourbon Whisky Pre Prohibition, Tin Lithographed Advertising Serving Tray with fantastic, Revolutionary War period, Patriotic imagery.

This wonderful Tin Litho Tray measures 16 1/2\" by 13 1/2” and features a fantastic image of American Revolutionary War Soldiers all enjoying glasses of Old Pepper Kentucky Bourbon Whisky. At the center of the Tray is a bottle of Old Pepper Whisky distilled by James E. Pepper & Co. of Lexington, Kentucky. The rim of the Tray is decorated with a red, white and blue American Flag drape and the only text on the Tray (besides that on the label of the Bourbon Bottle) is at the top and bottom of the rim. Text at the top of the rim reads \"Established 1780\" and text at the bottom reads Jas. E. Pepper & Co. / Lexington, KY\".

While the Tray is not dated, it carries the mark of the lithographer - The Meek & Beach Co. of Coshocton, Ohio. The manufacturer operated under that name from 1901 to 1903 only thus dating the Tray to that period.

Established in 1780, during the American Revolution, and distilled over 3 family generations through 1958, the Pepper family brand of whiskey is the oldest & most legendary whiskey brand in both Kentucky and American history. Starting with Elijah Pepper (distiller 1776-1838) and then Oscar Pepper (distiller 1838-1867), the Colonel James E. Pepper (distiller 1867-1906) was the 3rd generation of that distilling legacy. He was a larger than life bourbon aristocrat and took the family brand to it\'s highest peak. Colonel James Edward Pepper, Master Distiller, was a flamboyant promoter, who was very proud of his distilling heritage – the third generation to produce Old Pepper whiskey. He claimed the oldest distillery – founded in 1780 – in the United States, the largest distillery in the world and the “best” whiskey in the United States. He was the original prototype of the “Kentucky Colonel” and lived life to the fullest, traveled in a private railcar and visited all the fashionable resorts in the United States and Europe. He bred and raced thoroughbreds on both sides of the Atlantic.

This wonderful ca1901 Pre-Prohibition Advertising Tray is not a reproduction, reissue or restrike but is an original ca1901 Tray manufactured for James E. Pepper & Co. and their \"Old Pepper\" Brand Kentucky Bourbon Whisky.
