Cast Iron Hubley Lockheed Sirius Plane Lindy NR-211 1933 Original Sticker
Price: US $4300.00
This fine cast iron airplane made by Hubley in 1933 (see photo of underside) is in excellent condition.  It was owned by one boy in our family in the 1930\'s, then packed in a box until now.It still has the original \'It\'s a Hubley\" sticker on the wing, as seen in the photos.  The original would have had a pull-string that went in the cast iron loop in the propeller.  I\'ve done nothing to clean this plane, except a slightly damp cloth to remove rust.  This plane passes the blacklight test and has never been repainted.Hubley modeled this after the plane used by Charles Lindbergh and his wife, Anne Morrow Lindbergh, as they surveyed Pacific airline routes for Pan Am Airlines in 1931.  The plane measures 8 1/2\" x 10 1/2\" x 5\".   Little tiny chips here and there on the topside of the plane.  More visible paint chips are on the bottom, the front of the wings and along the edges of the tail parts.  The propeller is burnished with age, perhaps slight rusty, but it feels smooth and there is no loose rust on it.  The propeller still turns but the wheels do not.  It appears as if this was mostly used for shelf display because both original rubber tires are \'flat\' in one place from sitting on a hot shelf or something. I took more photos than allowed by .  Let me know if there\'s some other view you would like to see.  PLEASE review the photos to ensure you understand the condition.
