Wonderful old ceramic penguin single salt or pepper shaker made by Catalina Island Pottery, with a stunning glaze which darkens in areas to provide visual contrast. Reminds me of the rutile glazes used by Frankoma Pottery. The penguin is 3-1/2\" tall, with 4 pour holes, original cork, and incised \"167\" on the bottom. I believe the color is Toyon Red. In wonderful condition - no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. Can be referenced in \"All-American Salt & Pepper Shakers\" on page 80. Please consider photos as part of the description.
