The Cosmos A3crystalset receiver amplifier, dating toabout 1922, manufactured by the Metropolitan Vickers Company. This amplifier was designed to fit in the headphone compartment of a crystal receiver.

Mahogany case, measures approx.6 x3 x 4 inches. Nickel-plated brass fittings. Carries the BBC marking. This example is in overall excellent condition. Appears to be complete and I believe it to be all original - see photos. It is untested, so is sold as a collectors item.

Comes with two British Thomson Houston B5 type triode valves/tubes as originally supplied. The filament is open on one of these - so for display only.

Overall this piece displays very welland would compliment any crystal set collection.A classic piece of radio apparatus from so-called the \"Marconi\" era at the beginning ofdomestic radio broadcasting.
