Chicago 1893 The World\'s Fair Board Game by Parker Brothers RARE
Price: US $405.89
This is a quite rare \"The World\'s Fair Game\" by Parker Bros. of Springfield, Massachusetts. It consists of the board and the top of the box lid. Originally there would have been a full box, a spinner (indicator) and the pieces for the players to move around. The instructions are on the back of the lid. The object of the game was to move your piece around the board and the person who exits the grounds first wins. The board depicts the fairgrounds and measures 13 1/2 x 20 1/2 inches. The lid depicts Columbus and a view of the fair and measures 14 x 21 inches. It\'s possible that the board was actually the bottom of the box, which was done on some games. This is a fairly rare game. I\'ve only found a couple of references to it and only one recorded sale of a board. I\'m sure there are others out there but unlike many of the games of this period this was probably a slow seller and since it was time specific wouldn\'t have lasted long.I am selling a collection of Chicago 1893 items so please have a look at my other items. All items are sent via Priority Mail with insurance and I\'m happy to combine shipping.
