1850's Saddle Holster
Authentic pre-CivilWar saddle holster for two Colt Walker or Dragoon revolvers. About31" long when laid out flat; with individual holster size about 11.5" longwith a 5" opening. Likely custom-made, but can see no makers markings.
Due to the large sizeand weight, these revolvers were intended to be carried in saddle type holsters.
Low initial numbers along with prolonged use on the US frontier and duringthe US Civil War resulted in a very small number of surviving examples of theselarge saddle holsters.
Considering advanced age, rig is in good condition. Leather shows honest wear and oldpatina. Leather is still relativelysupple.
