Very good condition and guaranteed original Civil War USModel 1840 Infantry NCO sword. Maker marked “EMERSON & SILVER TRENTON N.J.”on the left side of the blade. Right side of blade is marked “U.S.” and dated1863 with “McG” inspector initials. 32” blade has original bright finish withsome gray and brown. Brass fittings have beautiful deep patina. Fitted incorrect original steel scabbard that has brass throat and tip. Steel hasoriginal blue metal finish showing some wear to brown and gray Brass fittingshave nice patina. Scabbard has no dents. A nice honest Civil War NCO sword thatwill make an excellent addition to your collection.
