Listed this week isanIncredible Estate collectionof EnglishSterling and Silver Plate.Many of thepieces areselect items from the inner walk in vault of a connoisseur silver collector. The items were some of his most prized pieces collected over the past 40 years and were in the “never sell these” category of his collection. We did sell some items from this collection last year that brought some amazing interest, and we have now been asked to sell some more items all being offered without reserve. Up for sale with is an Extremely Rare Complete Set of 3 Matching 18th Century George II Period Sterling Silver Tea Caddy Jars or Boxes. This is the only set of 3 Matching 18th Century Tea Caddy Boxes I have ever personally seen and are part of an incredible collection of Georgian Silver that we have been selling from for the past couple of months. The Tea Caddies are some of the finest I have sold featuring superb signs of being completely Hand Made. The Tea Caddy Boxes feature great George II Period form with finely Hand Chased details and amazing Shell form feet. The Tea Caddy Jars also feature very finely detailed Pineapple Finials and the lids fit very nice and tightly. The Tea Caddy Boxes are in excellent condition for the age with only minor dint marks but no large dents and no cracks or repairs of any kind. The Tea Caddies also have a nice soft patina from havingnever been over polished or dipped. The Tea Caddy Jars make for an impressive display together with each measuring5-5/8 inches tall by3-1/2 inches wide by3 inches deep with each being a slightly different size, a graduated set if you will. The Tea Caddy Jars are also nice thick Solid Sterling Silver throughout with a quality combined weight of723 grams. The Tea Caddy Boxes all have good clear matching Hallmarks to theJars andLids as well, being all 100% original. The Hallmarks arefor the fine Period Silversmiths Daniel Smith & Robert Sharp, London England, Sterling Silver and the Date Letter for 1760. It is also interesting to note that this was the final year of King George II\'s reign, which I am sure makes this set all the more desirable. I doubt you will ever have the chance to offer on another set like this on , let alone without reserve !
