Conn Elkhart 48h Connstellation Trombone - 1960
Price: US $800.00
1960 Elkhart Conn 48h in nice condition. Plays wonderfully, with that typical bright, bold 48h sound. Small bore (.500\"). Some wear on slide stockings, small imperfections in bell, maybe evidence of a dent removal. Horn is a great player where ever you might use a small bore horn. I\'m selling it because I have more horns than I play, and my 6h is my go-to small bore horn. If you\'re not familiar with the 48h, it has a nickel plated bell - not a high maintenance silver plated bell (doesn\'t need polishing to stay shiny). It also has a characteristic bold sound that many owner comment on proudly - it projects very well and is very efficient with making a lot of sound. The 48h was based on the dimensions of the 6h (.500\" bore and 8\" bell), but given some upgrades, like a lightweight slide, the nickel plated bell, and the rounded braces to make it easier to grip. This was considered the top of the Conn line in its day. I love this horn and the way it plays, but I had to make a choice, and I play my 6h more often. I\'ve had it for about 15 years. This does come with a case, but not a mouthpiece, or the trombone stand shown in the pictures. If you want a mouthpiece to go with it, just ask, I may have something appropriate that I can include.
