Vintage DIETZ No. 6 Railroad Lantern with

The Dietz Lantern Compendium states the following:

5 3/8\" #39 Globe, feature possibly used to deter theft. Discontinued in 1919

This Dietz No. 6 bellbottom railroad lantern is in very good shape and possesses a fantastic aged-tin patina. The lantern sits straight when placed on a surface and hangs true from the bail. It\'s bail looks to have been altered by a railworker to lock the bail in \"signal mode\" as it has one end absent the typical eyelet loop. The drop in fuel potis in good working condition with just a bit of oxidation but no dents or holes. The BLUE Kirkman No. 6 RR globe has slightly raised letters with the NEW YORK CENTRAL words cast into the glass. It is free of any major scratches and has nocracks...just a few swirls in the glass and flea bites on the rims.
