I don\'t know if it has to have a service or which service it uses. ( did have a buyer say it goes with Adams cable? Unsure so you might look up the brand ) It does have good storage no disc needed.

Another customer stated it needs a cable service to work.

A buyer that is a DSL tech sent this info - It requires an IP connection. What he could see you connect the box to your DSL router by Ethernet cable then you can connect the box by HDMI to your smart TV or HDTV.

It does not use a disc it\'s all internal memory
