Silver Maine Coon Cat is NOTENTIRELY AN ORIGINAL HANDBUILT SCULPTURE -- but, technically speaking, it canbe \'described\' as an OOAK due to the artistic modifications made to theoriginal resin model.
This life-likeminiature cat was \'assembled\' using a resin model head **see photo oforiginal resin model below**, BUT the other 80% (body) is afreeform,handbuiltpolymer clay sculpture. WHY use just the resin cat head for thispiece?? Well, I started out wanting to modify the entire resin cat, but had alittle mishap when trying to grind down the body with a dremel :( So, instead of just throwing out the whole piece, I decided to use the resincat head to make a realistic, reclining maine coon cat!
Since only the head wasremoved from the model, it was moderately \'customized\' using a dremel tool tocarve out the inner ears and slightly reshape the face. A reclining polymerclay body was fashioned in a typical maine coon \'crossed-legged\' pose, with awire-based tail that can be gently draped or curled. The resin head was drilledand attached to the polymer clay body using wire, glue and clay to fill in thegaps. Next, the entire piece was painted in acrylics, including glossy greeneyes; and a realistic coat of blended silk and cashmere fibers and powder-fineflock were applied using scissors, tweezers & glue. As a final touch,this bold, beautifulcooncat was given tiny little toetufts,whiskers & brows.
Please note: Thisminiature Silver Maine Coon Cat was customized in a smoke-free environment andis considered a collectible (not recommended for young child play).
