Early Micmac Indian Quill Basket Box Birch Bark Wood Base Native American
Price: US $218.49

Offered is a late 19th Century or early 20th Century Micmac Quilled Basket Box. This lovely little box came from a museum deaccession sale and has the original coding written on bottom.
The museum acquired it in 1938, so it dates before that time. It has thick birch bark sides and a more solid birch wood base. The natural quills are flattened on sides as is the style of these Micmac pieces, and quills in their rounded form create the design on lid. It measures 4\" by 3\" by 2 3/4\" Please see pictures for condition issues. Common in these fragile and early pieces, this does show missing quills, mostly on one half of top and some around base. Still a solid and beautiful piece of historical Native American quill and art work.
I\'m listing several Native American and First Nation baskets, art, and beadwork pieces this week.

I\'mhappy to combine shipping on all collectibles. If the rate is for firstclass, it is possible several items will push your item over 16 oz, so it will have to go priority. I will try to save as much as possible while ensuring your item arrives safely. Sorry, however, that I can\'t combine books or other media items with collectibles due to media mail shipment restrictions.

*International Buyers: I will send this item first class to Canada, but please understand that there is no insurance offered for this option.. You are responsible for any duty charges your country may impose and acknowledge the risk of mailing without insurance.
OurNative American and First Nation items have been collected from variousplaces--sales, estate sales, pow wows and craft stores from our travels. Many of our Quill Boxes come from Manitoulin Island, where we spend part of each summer. We hate to let some of these items go but with our children in college, it\'s time to liquidate some of the collection and share our items with others.
