Here we have an exquisite 9&1/4\" tall Early Chinese Export Vase - having a sensuous scalloped lip and shoulder flange - which we estimate having been produced in the early 19th century. Note the finely hand-rendered panels with soothing hues, raised details and gilted highlights on a mild blue celodon backdrop. And best of all: 4 high relief dragon hatchlings, of varying colors and posture, adorning the neck in mischevious repose. This relatively inspired take on the \"Rose Medallion\" approach supports the notion that this piece was executed early in the period, before it had become a rote exercise for the artists involved.

Item presents beautifully and is in complete condition, with only normal minor surface imperfections. Shows two dark pinhole sized pits near the mouth and a few on the underside, typical of the antiquated manufacturing process. Item shows some minor loss of paint in areas, consistent with true antiquity and careful handling. No chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. Please see all images.
