For your all-year-long Hallowe\'en loving pleasure, we are proud to present a WICKEDLYwonderful EARLY vintage Hallowe\'en Jack o\' Lantern decoration that was made inGermany in the 1920s, or possibly even earlier!Please meet Jocelyn. She is the smallest of the three German Jack o\' Lanternswe are listing. Please see her two sisters, Jacinda and Jezebel, being offeredin our other listings. Jocelyn measures 4” tall (6” to the top of the wire bale handle) x 4” wide x 3 ½”deep. She is faintly marked Germany on her underside. Jocelyn was made from lightcomposition wash over formed-and-stapled cardboard or what many refer to aspaper or papier mache. She was hand-painted in outstanding colors of oldbrownish-orange and she has handpainted antique red lips. She retains her original paperinsert which helps to create her oh-so-charming expression. The insert is incolors of warm beige, old red, teal and navy blue/black. Notice that like hersisters, she too has pale green highlights to her striations that simulatethose of a real pumpkin. Jocelyn is an authentic antique/vintage decoration, and she is in all-original condition!Ziz absolutely loves the early primitive look of this lantern. She retains notonly her original paper insert, but her tin candleholder, cardboard base andmetal wire bale handle as well. Her exact condition is as follows: there is NO sign that she was ever used forher intended purpose which was to give her family’s home a GHOULish glow on AllHallows\' Eve. There are NO burn marks and there is NO candle wax in herinterior. For her debut, we illuminated Jocelyn using battery-operated teacandles found at most craft stores. Her paint, although it has attractivelydarkened with age, is in excellent condition. There are two short separationsat the top – one at each side seam. This is typical for these lanterns – it usuallyhappens because of the way they were made. There are also a couple of tinyshort splits at the top – again this is because of the way this piece was made.She has a small surface lift to her upper lip. The insert is in perfectcondition. It has NO holes or tears whatsoever. The insert is slightly askew,giving Jocelyn an adorable, lovable, and somewhat zany expression. This incredible piece of Hallowe\'en history is in amazing condition for themany years Jocelyn has seen. While Ziz has stated that Jocelyn is from the1920s, her instincts tell her that she may even be older than that.
