A stunning 1860’s pearl graysilk dress that has recently been de-accessioned from the Rochester HistoricalSociety Museum collection. The cataloging tag is stitched inside thebodice. The bodice is decorated with lightgray pleated and ruched satin and black Chantilly lace trim. It is lined with cotton and has a frontbutton closure. The skirt has a massiveback sweep and is partly lined with buckram. The dress comes with a separatebelt that has a gray satin rosette on the front and a long back peplum that istrimmed with light gray satin. Thedress is in very good and sturdy condition.There is some very light underarm discoloration, some loose trim thatwill need minor re-stitching, 2 small age spots on the skirt and the waistbandis missing.
