Click to View Image Album 5 DAY ONLY saleWe are very pleased to offerthis exceedingly rare 19TH century Gautrot Marquet Breveté Paris oboe, circa 1860. I have yet to see another Gautrot Marquet oboe and couldn\'t even find another example on the web. Guatrot Marquet made some of the highest quality instruments made in the mid - late 19TH century.
It has silver or silver plated keys and I believe it is made of grenadilla wood. It comes with its original wooden dovetailed case with brass hardware, and original flip top wooden reed case. The oboe actually plays in its current condition, though it will need servicing (cork, pads, etc) in order to play well.CONDITION: There is an early professional pin repair to the first section, two hairlines to the mid section, two hairlines and what looks to be an early repair to the bell section. All of this can be viewed in the photos.
