Listed this week is an amazing and very fine estate collection of Chinese jade and stone carvings that includes some interesting and fine scholarly stone objects. There are some fabulous and rarely found pieces listed including items with Museum provenance, I believe being some of the finest carvings I have offered. Up for sale is a Truly Exceptional Chinese Carved Imperial Maidens Carving. This carving is by far one of the finest examples I have personally seen with a beautiful imperial maidens carved design. The figures are carved of a superb hu of natural untreated pure white and lavender jadeite that has beautiful apple green accents to the stone. I have had this figure inspected by our local gemologist that we have worked with for upwards of ten year that has confirmed this figure is carved of natural untreated authentic jadeite. She also commented that this jadeite would be considered grade A jewelry grade jadeite and that examples of this side and natural color variation cannot be found today. The figures are superbly carved throughout and I am sure would have been done by a master carver. The carving came from the estate displayed on this very fine hardwood carved stand that is intricately inlaid with silver wirework. I have closely inspected this figure and the condition is beautiful with absolutely no chips, cracks, missing pieces, or repairs. The figure displays beautifully measuring 6 1/2 inches tall, by 4 1/8 inches wide, and 2 3/8 inches thick. The figure with its stand sits 8 1/4 inches tall. This figure is a top quality investment grade example.
