This is a magnificentrare 1867Victorian post Civil War Erastraw hat. These hats are hard to find in good condition.

It was featured in: Vintage Hats & Bonnets (1770-1970) by Susan Langley .

It is called \"Japan\" style and is fairly flat in shape with a tiny raised middle.

There is black velvet trim all around the brim and small velvet star like trims.

There is a largesilk bow on top of the raised middle.

Thehat is lined inblue silk.

The straw and velvet trimis in great condition with just a slight shattered spoton the lining.The ties are missing.

36\" - around the brim

11 1/2\" by 11 1/2\"
