The incubator has a transparent door and interior lighting to easily monitorthe incubation and hatching process. Unlike conventional incubators, theExo Terra Incubator automatically starts cooling when the temperature exceedsthe set incubation temperature and automatically switches back to heatingmode when the temperature drops below the set incubation temperature.
This cooling and heating combination is extremely useful in rapidlychanging environments and during hot summers. The Exo Terra Incubatorprevents egg loss due to overheating by automatically switching intocooling mode until the set incubation temperature is reached. Humidityis provided by adding water to the slide-out tray in the bottom ofthe unit or by adding an extra (optional) container with water.

When you receive please run unit for a day or two to get the temperature inside to bewhat\'s needed . I suggest having a thermometer inside so you can double check the temps. Theunits can be off by 1-3 degrees so learning your unit and learning how to set the temp so insideis operating at your desired temp. can take a day or two . I have found using an extra exo terrathermometer inside is a good way to know the temp. Remember never open the door once set ,or you will cause temp to fluctuate.Use light and viewing window. Also shut light out at all times (only for viewing) .it is not working message or text countryfishgirl right away. If unit is handled roughly by carrier (dropped)Heating unit may break , unit is very delicate. So should be returned as soon as possible , if you think there\'sa problem. Units can be off by 1-4 degrees. So take your time getting an thermometer inside set to whereyou can see. Than watch till you know the machine. write a log book with time and temp so you can learnthe machine. Also I have found while operating my own units in room temperatures 70-74 . The incubator can hold 84 to 86degrees easy . You will see at times the heater click on an off many times and than run longer or shut off forfive minutes. Don\'t open the door , leave unit run . Do not let this bother you. These unit run constantly twodifferent fans. First , fill some water into bottom tray to make humidity no matter what. Second , run unitat 82 degrees after one hour check temp. You may see temp is 80 . I let run for a couple days and check internaltemp every couple hours and adjust outer temp controls till my inner temp is where I need , than I look at outerdigital reading and now I know if temp is off and how to raise if needed. Also I have found not to run unit in acolder room . Machine works great in room climate 70 and above. when room is cooler the fans run more andunit heater is off by 3 to 4 degrees . Also keep light turned off ,use for viewing .
