Exquisite!! Museum Quality Antique Vintage 1800\'s Velvet Hat Bonnet!
WIRED FLOWER ON RIGHT SIDE
This is an absolutely beautiful bonnet from the 1800\'s. No doubt made by a master milliner, it has a wired base covered with a pattern of intricately woven brown velvet and golden straw. It is accented with green velvet and three ornaments- two at the front and one at the back. There is also a flower(?) made with small wires at the back of the hat and velvet ruffles surround the inside of the brim.
It is labeled L.E. Gallager, Importer, Philadelphia, and it has two long velvet ties to secure it.
It is in excellent vintage condition- very clean with minimal wear for its age. No real issues noted other than the ties which have begun to split as shown in photo #7. Truly a work of art- outstanding in both design and condition, it is a wonderful example of the styles worn during the 1800\'s, and Perfect for the collector!
