Up for sale with is an extremely rare matching pair of George II London Sterling Silver Tea Caddy Jars or Boxes. The Tea Caddy Jars are by far the earliest Pair I have ever sold and I am sure are an extremely Rare find. The Jars are superbly and completely Hand Made with nice signs of Hand Hammering inside. The Jars are also of a great Period design and really show their quality with extra thick reinforced bases and such finely made finials. The Tea Caddy Jar also each feature a very nice Hand Etched Period Family Armorial Crest which is well worth looking into as I am sure these are from an important service, not just anyone could afford an extreme luxury as these. The Jars are fully Hallmarked for the fine Period Silversmith John Newton of London, Sterling Silver and the Date Letter for 1728 (one jar\'s date letter is worn). The Tea Caddy Boxes are in truly amazing condition for the age with minor signs of use and age but no dents, cracks or repairs, mostly because they are such thick gauge Sterling Silver throughout. The Tea Caddies are also a nice early Georgian Period size with each measuring5-3/8 inches tall by3-1/2 inches wide by2-3/8 inches thick. The Jars also have a very nice quality combined weight of450 grams and you can really feel the quality in your hands. We have sold tens of thousands of pieces of Silver here on but this is the earliest Pair of Tea Caddy Jars we have ever sold and I doubt you will find another Pair like it up for sale without reserve !
