The clock measures 15 ½ inches or 39.3 cm high to the top of the finial, and is 8 inches or 20.3 cm wide at the feet.
The clock has a very fancy bronze case with scrolling acanthus leaf legs and base. The clock has 4 beveled glass panels with a hinged door at the front and back. At the top of the clock is a urn form finial. The bronze is in it\'s original golden brown patina which is all original to the piece.
The clock has a white porcelain dial with black Arabic. There are two key winds on the bottom of the dial and one small one at the top for adjusting the time faster or slower. The movement is marked “MADE BY THE NEW HAVEN CLOCK CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.”.
The clock is eight day time and strike. This means the clock will run for eight days on a full winding, and will count and strike the half hours on the gong at the back of the movement. The clock will run but needs some the kind attention of a clock person to keep it going, it strikes the hours and half hours correctly. It comes with a key.
The case, the glass and the porcelain dial are all in excellent and original condition. There is age appropriate variations to the patina on the case. Please see the many photographs as they are an important part of the description.
