Beautiful Antique Iraqi Solid Silver & Niello Pepperette. c1930
Very skillfully made near Amarah, southern Iraq c1930 by skilled Mandean silversmiths.
Skillfully hand raised into an egg shape, the plinth unscrews for filling. It features fine quality intricate nielloed work depicting date palms and reed beds, boats on the Euphrates river and
the ancient Persian Achaemenid ruins at Ctesiphon.
Tactile and beautifully proportioned with a height of 68mm, it is made from a good gauge of solid silver and weighs an impressive 41g.
It\'s in very good original antique condition.
