A fine large old Northwest Coast Kwakiutl or Nuu-chah-nulth Indian hand carved and cedar totem pole dating from the mid 1900\'s. The totem is one of two totems we are offering by the noted Nootka Vancouver Island carver by the name of Charlie Mickey (1910-1988). An example of his work can be seen in the book Carvings and Commerce by Michael Hall and Pat Glascock page #137 illustration #122 . This fine large example depicts bold deeply carved and hollowed out imagery featuring Thunderbird, diving killer whale, a seated shaman with a human peering out between his legs. The totem stands an impressive 26\" tall on a base measuring 7 1/2\" x 5\" , there is a chip to the one of the Thunder-bird\'s ears, otherwise just a nice aged patina.
