Details: A very good Sampson Mordan Victorian silver novelty propelling pencil formed as a tennis raquet (racket). Pencil slides out and the lead is propelled by twisting the nozzel.
Hallmarks / date / Maker: Unmarked but guaranteed silver. The registration mark dates this to 1878 (when the design was registered) and it was probably made c1880-1890. Makers mark of Sampson Mordan.
Condition: Very good condition. No dents, dings or splits. Works well. The spindle moves in and out (pictured) correctly when the nozzel is twisted. Slider works correctly. An excellent example.
