This listing is for a French 19th century all original swing arm clock. The clock measures 25 inches or 63 cm high to the top of the clock arm.

The figure is of a pretty young fisher woman in a diaphanous dress. In her left hand she holds her catch of fish. Here right hand holds the arm that holds the clock itself. The figure is white metal with a bronze patina. This is all original and the finish is excellent. This figure sits on a black iron base. This helps support the weight of the clock and allows the figure not to tip over.

The clock itself is bronze and enameled brass. The clock works are contained in a ball at the top of the mechanism. The face is blue enamel. The hands and the numerals are gold. There is a smaller ball at the bottom of the clock that matches the top. They are all held together by a series of connection rods.

The clock is an 8 day affair that winds with a key. The apparatus the figure works is actually both the clock and the pendulum. The whole swings on a suspension spring at the end of the rod the figure holds. The condition overall is excellent. There is some minor blue enamel on the ball confined to the back of the ball. A nice clock in completely original condition. This is not a reproduction but a genuine late 19th century French example of a pretty scarce clock. If you would like to see the clock working you can find it on youtube with this see the many photographs for more on the look and condition as they are an important part of the description.
