Excellent condition and guaranteed original French ForeignLegion fighting knife. This scarce piece was converted from a British P14Enfield bayonet, and is a known variation. 7 3/8” blade has gray parkerizedfinish showing a little wear. Still has original British proof marks on thericasso, along with manufacturer Remington and dated May 1917. Remaining metalfinish is excellent gray parkerized. Muzzle ring was removed. Still has workinglock button. Wood grips have a good tight fit and no damage. Fitted in correctoriginal leather scabbard that has steel throat and tip. Leather is soft andsupple with very little wear. Original green paint shows some flaking.Stitching and staples are nice and tight. A nice example of a hard to findFrench Foreign Legion combat knife that will make a fine addition to yourcollection.
