Genuine NOS U.S. Military World War II American M-1943 Field Jacket - UNUSED - size 42L
This is a wonderful piece, absolutely ideal for a museum, or an advanced uniform collector. It is a 100% original World War II US military M-1943 field jacket made during World War II and was never worn or laundered. It is still covered with the original small white inspection tags stapled here and there, 16 total. Each tag says 161 22455 42L G on it.
We purchased this M-1943 field jacket as a part of the contents of three fully loaded officer’s footlockers at the estate sale of the original owner, a WW2 ETO veteran. As far as we could tell, we were the first people to remove this field jacket along with the other contents of the footlockers in the past 60 years. Nothing in the footlockers had been disturbed, messed with or altered. All of the content was clean, dry and the only odor it had was that of moth balls because of wool clothing also included.
The jacket is stamped inside the bottom button-fly and in the center of the inside of the back with the original owner’s C-1417 laundry mark which is also part of the Officer’s name and serial number which appears on the footlocker it came out of.
MEASUREMENTS:
shoulders 21 inches, sleeve length 25 inches, back length 33 inches, chest / armpit-to-armpit 23 inches (46 inches around the chest), and it has original and it has an OD adjustment drawstring inside the waist.
The field jacket is a size 42L and it is precisely as we bought it and removed it from the footlocker from the estate of the US Army Officer who shipped it home from Europe when he returned to the United States after WW2. It is in splendid un-used condition, with no holes, no rips, no tears, no repairs, no fading, no soiling. A remarkable example of the M-1943 field jacket exactly as shown!
