Worked in Danville, Kentucky from 1850.
Also in New York for Bailey & Co. for which this coffee is hallmarked.
Ovoid.
Leaf and vine framed center medallion. Engraved VWB (?). United by floral streams carved in high relief. Wavy edge scroll and offer rim and skirt.
Bell dome cover with satin chased swirl fluted bell finial.
Thick well cast leaf cap handle, original heat stops, rising from frosted leaf terminal.
This important c1850 George B. Sharp sterling coffee pot is 11 1/2 inches tall and weighs 35 standard ounces.
Hallmarked as shown. Including Sharp\'s \"English\" sterling marks.
In excellent condition. Rich lusterous silver patina throughout. Stands firm on table. Interior clean. Minor wear.
