Description:

Up for sale is a beautifully crafted 2.5 liter GermanMettlach Stein #1916 made in 1895 by Villeroy & Boch. The base shows the impressed Abbey mark used 1982-1931 as well as the number \"34\" and \"95\" for 1895 with piece code \"1916\".

This has a drinking motif by Cristian Warth showing two men sharing a drink with banners reading \"Ein Glas beim Freund ist gut gemeint\" translating to \"A glass with a friend is well meant\" with the artists signature on the lower right of the barrel in the picture.

The spout hasaunique bearded face with the pewter latch showing a similar face. The entire stein is well decorated and very colorful with floral accents.

It measures 15 1/2\" tall by 6 1/2\" wide in the middle and 4 5/8\" across the base. As shown it does havea crack that has been repaired both above with glue and below with glue and staples 3\" across and 1 1/4 \" deep.

Lovely rare German Stein that is a sure collector piece.
