Pandas are always popular with teddy collectors, and this one is a lovely looking bear, with an unusual shape face, and distinct nose stitching with downturned end stitches. I have been unable to positively identify the maker but he looks very much like an Omega bear,( British United Toy Manufacturing Company),though I have never seen a panda by this firm before .I will have to leave you to decide. If anyone can identify him, I would love to know.He measures 17\", and has a good covering of mohair. The black parts have excellent coverage, but the white mohair is thinning a bit in places.He has the original brown glass eyes, with felt backings. An unusual feature is that the ears are both black and white, black for the fronts, and white at the back.He is fully jointed so can stand or sit, and all joints are firm.He is part straw filled, in the head and torso, and the limbs are filled with cotton sub.This would date him to around the 1940\'s.He once had a growler voice box, but this no longer works...it just clunks around inside!He is in very good shape for his age...no holes or floppy joints, and there are no nasty odours.A real character, with a great expression. If you love pandas, you\'ll certainly love this one!
