We are very meticulous when it comes to describing our flatware, hollow ware, and coins. Please, feel confident when shopping with us. Our goal is to make our customers happy, as we continue to build our reputation. We are approaching our 1 year anniversary as being sellers. We have learned a lot along the way, thanks to our loyal customers. I would like to give you some information about who we are. First off, we are a brick and mortar jewelry retailer. We have been in business since 1930 in the Michigan area. We would also like to let you know the differences that separate us from most other sellers. We offer both common as well as high end items in the many different arenas that we deal in. We offer fair shipping cost and do not charge a handling fee. We have reliable employees that take the time and care that you deserve when packaging your items. Many of you have asked for the cost of hand polishing your set before shipping it. We all know how tough it can be to polish silver and silverplate. We have added that to our resume. We have added a retired gentleman to our staff who\'s only job is to do polishing. We also offer our customers monogram removal as well as adding monograms to a piece or a entire set. We offer many different fonts. You, the customer, have asked for these services, and we have responded. We now also deal in bullion as well as buying and selling slabbed coins. Our company has really grown, thanks to you, our customers. I am enclosing below, our 1-800 number. [phone removed by ] ask for Dennis or Glenn. With that being said, we are ready for year number two! Remember, we are a name that you can trust. So, without further ado, let\'s get started! This lot was manufactured by Gorham. This set is hallmarked and factory numbered. The hallmark is pictured. This pattern has a very interesting history. This was given to a customers family on their 25th wedding anniversary, in 1899. The monogrammed on front of all five pieces supports those facts. When I first looked at the pattern I assumed it to be a Chantilly pattern. Chantilly was done several different ways, as supported again by facts that are supported by Replacements. I have been in this industries for almost 50 years and have heard that there were special order patterns that were available, however, I could never find anything to support that until this set arrived into our shop and I began talking to the folks that have had possession of this set in their family, for over 100 years. They informed me that this set was a special order set from Gorham. I really didn\'t pay much attention to those details until I began to research this pattern for a name. There was none to be found. I then sent pictures to Replacements for their help. Their help was really appreciated. The response that I received back from them was quite surprising. It reads a follows: \"Thank you for your response and images. We have never had this Gorham set before. In order to make the most accurate offer possible, please, etc....\". I now assume that this was a special order pattern which may exist of this single patterned set only. The other strange mark on the bottom of the set is that each piece is hallmarked with a question mark sign, ? as well as with Gorham\'s sterling silver, hallmarked as well as being sterling silver. I have checked these pieces to make sure that they were what they said they word. For those of you that are a hard die collector of Gorham, this is a must! The set will be started at scrap prices. A very kind gentleman told me that this set is dated 1899 and that its another version of the Chantilly pattern which started production in 1899. I will add more info as I get it. I would like to thank this person and his son for all of their help! This lot will consist of the following:(1) 10 1/2\" x 10 3/4\" 2 1/2 pint coffee pot. This piece does rock a bit. Because I consider it to be a rare set I will not attempt any repairs. These repairs are not difficult to do. A jeweler or silversmith can take care of this for you. This piece is factory numbered A 541
(1) 10\" x 9 1/4\" teapot, 2 1/4\" pints, factory numbered A 542. There is a small ding on the spout
