We are quite pleased to offer this monumental turn of the century Gorham sterling tea service.

In the Greek Revival taste.

Classic tapering urn.

Anthemion in heart shape medallion, alternating with leafy stand. On satin.

Inset shoulder with egg and dart border.

Well cast bell dome cover topped with raised cushion saucer finial.

Boldly cast feathered acanthus cap paneled handle, original heat stops set in leaf collar frame. Staggered leaf terminal.

The tea kettle with leaf and collar framed swing handle. Rising from twisted leaf terminal.

Urn form burner with slots for tight fit to stand, natural substance cap butterfly handle for precise heat control.

Stand with leaf and rolling vine, oval center supports. Stand itself with rolling acanthus border and atop bun feet.

Monogrammed CLC (?).

The kettle on stand 13 1/2 inches 7 1/2 standard ounces.

Teapot 10 1/2 inches 40 1/2 standard ounces.

The sugar vase is 8 inches 22 1/2 standard ounces.

Creamer 6 1/2 inches 14 standard ounces.

Waste bowl is 7 1/2 and weighs 14 standard ounces.

The complete service weighs 168 standard ounces.

Hallmarked as shown. The kettle date symbol 1910. The burner with date symbol P.

Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. The scrolling anthemion and vine, and leaf cap spouts and handles retain their original detail. Interior teapot and kettle clean as if little used. Stands firm.
