Description:

This is agreat looking small Art Decosolid (sterling)silver ladies compact with abeautifully enamelled lid and a stylishengine turnedexteriordecoration on the underside, as pictured.

The case has beenassayed inLondon by Cohen & Charles during 1931. Hallmarksas pictured.

It measures just less than 2\" square by 10mm highand on my electronicscales it weighs2.66 ounces which equates to 2.42 ounces Troy(75.5g), although this weight will of course also include theinterior mirror.

The caseis in aused vintage condition. The mirror is stillvery functional, clearand usable. There area few typicallight faint age related scuffs andscratches on the silver and on the enamel here and there plus two or three small impact type edgedents to report. Nothing really nasty or serious though as you can see. The deepest of these is on the top edge and I have photographed and indicated this clearly above so that you can make a judgement.

The enamelling on the lid is still in avery good condition indeed. I have also pictured the lid close-up so that you can see for yourself. Any white patches you see on these photographswill justbe due to reflections. Although lightly scuffed through age and use none of the enamel seems to bedamaged or missing.

The inner contents are exactly as shown, there is no powder or mesh present.

It could allprobably do with a good polish to restore former glory.
