Presentedfor sale is a hand painted Nippon chocolate set circa 1890s. Myunderstanding was this mark MAPLE LEAF mark was first used in 1891.

Thescene on this set displays a double rose with fields and hills in the distance.This set is composed of thirteen (13) pieces:

+Chocolatepot with lid (pot has blue maple leaf mark)

+Six(6) saucers (no mark onsaucers)

+Five(5) cups (cups havegreen maple leaf mark)

Saucersare about 4.75 inches diameter

Cupsare about 2 & 78th inches tall

Potwith lid is about 9.5 inches tall

Nochips, cracks, hairlines, etc.

Thewhite dots you see on the chocolate pot are part of the painted decoration.

Thereis a bit of wear to the gold on chocolate pot handle and lid knob.
