The reel also has theinitials JS (James “Jimmy” Smith) stamped on the interior of the rotationplate. He was one of Hardy Brothers premier fly reel builders specializing introut and salmon reels. The finish is in very good condition, no chips, dentsor scratches. The foot is brass and not altered. I have used this reel forsteelhead and salmon and it operated flawlessly. That distinctive Hardy checksound is music to ones ears and the Duplicated Mark II drag is fullyfunctional. This reel has a promising future with its next angler. It comeswith a correct hardy style leather case in sound condition and I have leftplenty of line backing on it. It will easily accommodate 8,9,10 wt spey lines.There is a fair reserve on this desirable reel.
