Hardy Phantom 8\' 2-piece. Rated by Jim Hardy as the best rod Hardy ever produced - but then, he designed it!

Rod is in excellent working order, still in use here in New Zealand. It casts dry fly, dry-and-dropper, and light nymphs superbly well, and lures (streamers) are no problem. It is also a very accurate rod, either close or at a distance, and lays a beautiful line down. It is light to the hand, and requires just a flick tocomplete the cast - yet it is taking larger browns and rainbows here in NZ, on quite large waters, comfortably. Rod is rated #5, but Hardy rated their rods in those days on DT - it is very comfortable with WF6, which I use all the time.

Rod is original in all respects as far as I am aware, although the top ring may have been replaced at some stage - it does not match the top ring in my mint Phantom 8\'. Allwhippings are original black with red trim. Butt is in excellent condition (see photo) and there is no corrosion on the reel fastenings - but some scratching on thebase reel fastener.

Rod comes in its own non-Hardy metal rod tube, so is well protected. The rod bag is not the best (see photo), but contains the rod safely. Postage is US$39 to all countries - but only US$20 to my Australian cousins!
