Heathkit TC-3 Tube Tester - Calibrated - Nice! - HAM
Here's a nice, clean Heathkit model TC-3 tube tester. It has all the sockets you've been looking for to test the tubes in your vintage radios. It'll test those older 4-pin, 5-pin, 6-pin, and even 7-pin tubes, as well as the later 8-pin octal, 8-pin loctal and the 7-pin and 9-pin miniatures. The test circuit of the TC-3 is identical to Heath's later models IT-21, IT-17 and IT-3117, and the test data for these testers is usable with the TC-3.
To ensure accuracy of a newly built kit, Heath didn't provide any calibration adjustments for these model testers, relying instead on the inherent accuracy provided by using close tolerance components in the measuring circuits. Calibration consists of ensuring that all these components, including the meter, are within tolerance. This has been done. Out of tolerance components have been replaced with modern, more stable types, and this TC-3 is working as it should on all ranges. It is shown in the second photo testing a new 6L6GC tube. The tube, of course, is not included in the sale.
The interior of this instrument is free of corrosion or other damage, and the face of the tester is in good condition with only a few blemishes as shown in the photos. It ships with a clean re-print of the operating and maintenance sections of the manual, including the schematic. Only the detailed construction steps have been omitted. Also included is the hard-to-find Supplement Test Data Sheet. This booklet contains much data on older and obsolete tubes as well as many newer ones. There are over 500 listing ranging from 1A3 to XXFM. All the old eye tubes are covered, even the 6T5, with emission, eye open, and eye closed tests for each.
If you'd like a tube tester that's very popular, has lots of data available, and will test virtually all your vintage tubes, you'll be pleased with this one!

My name is John. I'm not a professional seller, just a retired electronics engineer selling off my collection of electronic equipment acquired over the last half century. Some of the kit items I built myself back in the mid '50s. Newer items I acquired as I needed them for my work and hobbies. A few older items I bought on just for the joy of fixing them up and seeing the vacuum tubes glow again. Most all the items I'm selling are in good working condition. The few that aren't will be plainly stated as such. All items will be accurately described to the best of my ability. These are not collector items, just good working tools that have lots of useful life left in them. They are sold as-is, but will leave my possession carefully packed and in the condition stated. I look forward to your business. Good luck with your offerding!
