The words on the rod are \"Heddon\" \"Black Beauty\" \"#17-8\'-1 3/4 F HDH or E\" Research appears that the HDH means 6 weight double taper line and the E means modern 5 weight level line. This rod has been personalized for Harry of Plainsfield, N.J. (shown in photos). This rod includes its original cloth rod sock with label and original black metal rod tube with label \"JAMES HEDDON\'S SONS DOWAGIAC, MICHIGAN\". The rod tube label shows some wear.
