Huge Farnell \'Wilfred Rabbit\' soft toy dating to the 1920\'s.
Wilfred the rabbit was one of three cartoon characters that included Pip the dog and
Squeak the penguin featured in A.B Paynes cartoon strip in the daily Mirror in the 1920s.This huge Farnell Wilfred rabbit measures nearly 19 inches tall to the top of his head,
with his large floppy ears adding an additional 10 inches in height. He is firmly stuffed with
a mixture of kapok and wood wool with a fixed head and jointed arms and although he has
been loved, he still retains a very good coverage of his golden blonde mohair with just slight
overall thinning and a few small bare patches including one on his forehead and around his
tail but I would estimate he has retained approximately 90% coverage overall. Wilfred has some very small holes in the backing fabric on his forehead and a small stitched
repair by his right ear, but he is otherwise in very good sturdy condition with all of his original
features still intact, including his large back painted glass eyes, and he even has a couple of
horse hair whiskers still remaining. He is rare in this large size and would make a fanatstic
addition to any soft toy or teddy bear collection.
