Offered is a wonderful vintage Northern California Hupa, Karok/Karuk, Yurok Indian Basket, dated to early in the 20th Century.
This little trinket or tobacco basket has a lid, which is rare to find these days, with a lovely design of three repeating stacked parallelograms and three stacked triangles repeating on lid. It measures 2 1/2\" tall by 3 1/2\" at widest point.
Very fine weaving and the base is in excellent shape. The lid has a few condition issues: two small cracks at top start, like a thumb pressed too hard down on the basket. There is a slight bit of wear to a few places at rim of lid. Please see pictures.
