Up for sale is an extremely rare earlier 1900’s Polish Silver Jewish Traveling Menorah or Hanukkah Lamp. The Lamp is a very fine and interesting example. The lamp is completely hand made and of superb quality throughout. The outer case of the lamp has a finely hand etched design throughout, along with a plaque and script. The interior has an amazing design with 9 lion head lamps that included the center lamp with removable lion head for filling. The interior of the top lid also has a nicely etched design with rampant lions, menorah, and script. The lid also has a tiny polish solid silver hallmark used in the earlier 1900’s period that I believe indicates the outer case is 800 grade solid silver. The Case has a fine quality made strong back hinge, and the lid opens and closes perfectly and tightly. The case could use a light cleaning but I never like to touch anything this rare. The Case is otherwise in very fine original condition with no damage, and has been very well looked after. The Case measures 3 1/2 inches long, by 2 1/2 inches wide, and 1/2 inch thick. The Case has a quality weight of 142 grams.

I was only able to find one other traveling case like this that recently sold at Bonham’s sale as you can see, which sold for right around 8000 dollars. In my opinion this traveling case is as nice, if not nicer with its great lion figural interior. The Case would make an exceptional addition to a collection, and I believe is also a fine investment grade example.
