This is the best extended mag release for the Ruger 10-22 by far. Easy to use. Easy to install. So far I have bought (4) of them in silver. (I own (7) Rugers. Set up in different ways each. When you discovered these mag releases, I keep buying and installing them on each gun. At the same time I update each trigger group with auto bolts, charging handles, polish the hammer & sear etc. at the same time. Each gun gets a mag release to help in a certain color to help it stand out as well. So far silver has been used with a silver trigger to offset the black housing. Now I plan to buy black, green and either red or blue, each will also have matching triggers too. These look really good. But best of all they work good. Better than any on the market in my opinion. I have them on my 10-22's and also on my chargers as well. Buy one and you will be sold. I am again writing to tell everyone how good these triggers are. I wish the factory had come up with this idea. And now with so many colors to choose from. You can really personalize your gun. There are so many parts out there. The mag release, the trigger, the scope mount and now even the barrel. You can choose the piticular color that you like and go from there. Good luck on your build. It is fun and easy. I just finisher a 10-22 in carbon fiber. I real carbon fiber barrel and the rest of the gun is carbon fiber wrap. Everything else is complemented with silver accents. I wish I could show you a picture. Even the 3x9-50 scope is wrapped. Just use your imagination.Read full review

I should have looked closer at the outside edges in the photo. They are rough and unfinished with the anodize done right over the top of the rough cutting marks. If these lever releases were side surfaced/sanded before the anodizing they would be nice. Until then - I won't use any more.

The lever is light weight and very easy to install. It is a great improvement over the stock magazine release and it looks good. It is very functional in the way it works and it's overall design concept. The only down side is it takes a little time to get used to the way it fits with a magazine in the rifle. Without a magazine in the lever fits fairly close up to the trigger guard (1/16 inch), however when you have a magazine in the rifle it the lever is pushed out to a 1/4 inch gap at a wider angle towards the grip. This now positions the lever in a position where you can accidently release the magazine by bumping the lever or catching it on something inadvertently/ like if you were wearing heavy gloves. If the shape was redesigned so that it fit with the 1/16" or less gap between it and the trigger guard when the magazines are in the rifle.. It would be PERFECT. FYI... I still like it.Read full review

Overall very satisfied with this Timber Creek extended magazine release lever....definitely makes the task of dropping the magazine a convenient process. Ruger's factory magazine release lever is one if the poorest designed parts on their 10-22 gun....very uncomfortable and impractical design for releasing the magazine with such a stubby and 'squared edge' lever that is placed so close to the front of the trigger guard that it leaves very little room for the user to comfortably and practically use it. Would obviously expect Ruger to provide more when theiy're getting a little over 3hundred for the gun you see in my pictures which didn't come with the scope, Pike Arms aluminum trigger housing (ruger's is plastic), or extended charge handle which Ruger's factory original charge handle is so stubby that it's completely uncomfortable only having a tip of their charge handle that points/digs into the middle of your finger instead simply and inexpensively making it just a 1/4inch longer so the user can get a full finger hold on it! The only complaint I have with the Timber Creek release lever is that it does have a bit of sloppy movement side to side. They could have easily made the base of lever a bit thicker where it pins into the trigger assembly whereby making a snug fit but yet keeping things loose enough to provide a smooth pivoting action NOTE: You will see in my pictures that the Timber Creek extended magazine release lever hangs down a bit from the trigger guard. This is only when there is a magazine placed in the gun. When there is no magazine in the gun, the release lever will almost hug the trigger guardRead full review

Watched Ruger video to take gun apart and figured it out. Makes magazine removal easy! This is my first 1022 it's the take down model. One Allen screw and the pins all came out easy. Pushed out or a very light tap. Have fun shooting I am. P. S. I'm a 67 year old woman just getting back into shooting after 40+ years.
