An excellent deal... Using it with Windows Server 2012 without issue... Very good for standing up Virtual Machines... VMWare ESXi 5.1 also works, but you can't use RAID which is why I ended up using Windows. A little loud to use as a workstation, but possible... I used the PCIx16 slot for a decent video card, hooked in a USB Sound card and a USB Bluetooth adapter, and was able to wirelessly wear BT headphones and use BT keyboard and mouse and was very happy... (See www.win2012workstation.com for details on doing a full workstation conversion at a fraction of the cost of a home built workstation/server...)
Solid server with great features, but it's a power-hog. In today's server racks, power is the real cost and this machine sucks down a whopping 800mA at idle with a peak power consumption of over 1A. In a 40U rack that's limited to 15A (standard these days) you need 1U servers that come in under 0.5A peak operations that idle closer to 0.3A most of the time. These big old clunkers are abundant and cheap - but you'll be paying for them in the long-run because of the current they pull down in your rack. There's a reason these dinosaurs are so cheap!

No support from Dell. This is a custom server. Good price, works well for a private visualization server or home server. Be careful, it is power hungry.
Great hardware. Especially for the price. I use these for beta testing software and run Folding At Home at other times. Great little Servers.
