These are older style enterprise class hard drives. I have an older Dell server at work that uses these drives in an eight-bay configuration and they have been rock solid for many years with never a failure. However, realizing the system is no longer under support by Dell and I had no spare drives on hand for an inevitable failure, it seemed prudent to buy a few to keep on hand. These used drives are substantially less expensive than they were when they were brand new. Still I would feel confident that any drive tested by the vendor to be in good working order will continue to work fine. As I said above, these are enterprise class drives and are built for substantially better performance and longevity than consumer grade drives.
