your ebay ad says working had drive and this seller has no returns ,, i have been working on computers over 20 years,, i plugged it in my computer,, just ticks meaning does not work,,does not show up in the windows tryed 3 differnt computers ,,it is defective ... theres no screws or cable in the box ,, cant trust this seller ,, no way i broke it ,, just took out of the box and tryed it ,, now iam going to contact my credit card for a refund,, waist of my time

Made in Taiwan / Customer support directly from Taiwan, that says it all.
This router was defective right out of the plastic rapped box. It had about five dead pixels on the tiny picture frame display. It also had gouges and scrapes on the plastic piece that covers the lcd display. D-link customer care and technical support reads directly from the pages of their manual and regardless of the fact that these defects were a manufacturer defect they would not fix it or allow me to replace it because it was purchased from Ebay and not from a qualified D-link store. Customer support initially took all the information and serial number and agreed that it was within the 1 year and had agreed to replace it until I told them that i purchased it new from an Ebay seller and then they changed their tune and said "we no take return because u buy from ebay". D-LINK DIR-685 WIRELESS ROUTER IS MADE IN TAIWAN AND THEIR QUALITY IS TERRIBLE, THIS ROUTER WENT ALL THE WAY THROUGH ASSEMBLY TO BE BOXED WITH GOUGES AND SCRAPES ON THE LCD COVER. THE SCREEN IS PATHETICALLY SMALL AND YOU BETTER HOPE THAT IT DOES NOT HAVE EVEN A SINGLE DEAD PIXEL OR THE WHITE SPOT WILL DRIVE YOU CRAZY AND YOU WILL NOT WANT TO USE IT TO DISPLAY A PICTURE. D-LINK SHOULD JUST CLOSE THE DOORS IN TAIWAN BECAUSE THE QUALITY OF THEIR PRODUCTS ARE TERRIBLE. I WOULD NOT BUY ANOTHER D-LINK PRODUCT EVER AGAIN EVEN IF THEY WERE THE LAST MANUFACTURER ON THE PLANET. Nothing beats Cisco/Linksys, I am a loyal Cisco/Linksys customer from here on out.

A good wireless router that provides network storage as a bonus
It seemed a good idea to have a local data store accessible from all my computers, The D-link Xtreme Wireless Router promises this. I found that the best deal was from the USA and it was dispatched quickly to me. However, although "Priority Mail" it got held up at British Customs for well over a week before I was informed that there was VAT to pay before it would be delivered. Once I paid this it was delivered the next day. The VAT put the price up, but not to the price if bought in the UK. It works very well as a Wireless Router and I am only just getting to grips with it as part of my Network. I was able to install a SATA hard drive within and set it up on my network. I was then able to write data to the drive and access it from another computer, but sometimes I get the message ... AWESOME PRODUCT
this is an awesome product with great all round possibilities for a home office. definetely the product to buy if you looking at saving space, power and money. coupled with a hard drive, its the ultimate tool in a home. :) definetely very satisfied. however D-Link should make a serious effort as the product is marketed as a 'Photo Frame' and both services that render pictures online have been shut down and as such im stuck with the statistics monitor only.this is an awesome product with great all round possibilities for a home office. definetely the product to buy if you looking at saving space, power and money. coupled with a hard drive, its the ultimate tool in a home. :) definetely very satisfied. however D-Link should make a serious effort as the product is marketed as a 'Photo Frame' and both services that render pictures online have been shut down and as such im stuck with the statistics monitor only.

Upgrade it and get DLNA features
Small, silence, very good performance and great features. I just upgraded it and got DLNA features. I can also use the LCD display as a digital frame. Very good value.
