I purchased this turntable as a home player to spin records that I was given as a gift. I had not listened to records in almost 20 years and was excited to get to take a walk down memory lane. This Jensen fit the bill just fine. It has an included receiver that will clearly pick up radio stations. It works just fine as a basic record player and has no bells and whistles. I needed it to play all three speeds..45, 33, and 78. It plays all three clearly and does a great jobs. The only con that I have found is that in the automatic mode it does not pick up the arm and return it to the start position like other models do. When the record is finished it simply leaves the arm at the end of the record and stops spinning. This has not been an inconvenience to me really but I could see how others would not like it. I would purchase this unit again for what I use it for. If I needed more advances features or wanted to include something high end into my sound system I would probably spend more money and get a little better player. The record player is the key piece that I was missing and wanted to get so that I can play my old 45 & 33's. Since my records are stacked away I have not had the time to get them but I will and then I will find out how good the Jensen player is. But for the mean time I'll just use the radio.
